Cameras have come a long way since they were first invented; once they were all mechanical with no batteries required. Though it is still possible to find a camera that uses film, most cameras are digital, and batteries are required to be able to use them to capture anything from everyday moments to special occasions. FujiFilm makes digital cameras and data cards that now use batteries to power them.

This depends on the battery you are charging. For starters, the battery does not come fully charged, so you have to charge it before you use it. The NP-T125 used in the GFX 50S series takes 140 minutes to fully charge the first time. The NP-W126 and NP-W126S batteries used in the FujiFilm X mirrorless digital camera series take 150 minutes to charge. The NP-95 battery takes 4 hours to fully charge. This battery is used in the FujiFilm X100T, X30, and X70 compact cameras.

When the battery has reached the end of its life, it will no longer hold a charge.

Your camera will come with instructions on charging your battery. However, here is a quick tutorial.

• Connect the plug adapter: The plug adapter supplied with the camera varies according to the country or region in which it was purchased. You must use the adapter appropriate to your country or region.
• Place the battery in the charger: Follow the arrow on the battery. Place metal against metal.
• Plug the charger in: Once plugged in, the charging indicator light will go on.
• Let the battery charge: When the indicator light turns off, the battery is fully charged. Remove the battery at this time.
• Note: When the indicator light is flashing, this indicates that the battery is not working correctly.

When you need your battery life to last longer, here are some steps you can take.

• Adjust your LCD display screen: You can do this by turning it off and using the viewfinder. Another option is to minimize the picture preview as much as possible so that you use the LCD screen less. Finally, you can dim the brightness on your LCD screen. Except in direct sunlight, you should still be able to see it.
• Set your power saver: Adjust it to the lowest time setting, allowing it to turn off sooner when not in use.
• Learn to adjust how you focus: You can turn off the continuous focus, use the zoom less, and do not push the shutter button halfway until you are ready to shoot. These practices will minimize how often the camera focuses.
• Flash: Use flash only when necessary, such as during low-light conditions.
• Do not delete pictures: Wait until you download them to your computer to do this.
• Charge your battery often: Lithium ion batteries will actually work better and last longer if kept fully charged.
