Rimage CD/DVD Printers

Rimage designs and manufactures CD, DVD, and Blu-ray disc publishing. Rimage has single front-office printers and fully-networked publishing systems. Here is some information about Rimage's products.

What print technologies does Rimage offer?
  • Direct Thermal: With this type of printing, heat is applied directly to the surface of the label material. When it comes into contact with heat, the material blackens. This process is designed to be completed with minimal supervision. Rimage printers that use this method can print black and monochrome discs.
  • Thermal Retransfer: With retransfer printing, a print head and thermal transfer ribbons are used. When heat is applied to the transfer ribbon, it melts and creates a resin or wax, thus transferring the desired image to the disc. Thermal retransferring is the printing process used for personalized credit cards. Rimage printers that use this technology can print full-color and monochrome discs.
  • Inkjet: Some printers made by Rimage use traditional Inkjet printing processes. This method produces labels in full color.
How long does it take to print per disc?

Individual disc print time changes based on the printing method used. Because direct transferring is a less-complicated process, printers that use this method have a print speed of 5 seconds. Inkjet printers can provide full-surface printing in 6 seconds. Retransferring is more involved and takes about 60 seconds per disc.

What other features are Rimage printers equipped with?
  • DPI: Some Rimage products offer photo quality images with a DPI of 600.
  • Easy Access: Rimage has easy access side portals designed for changing equipments.
  • Ribbon Saver: Many Rimage machines are equipped with ribbon-saver features, which are designed to ensure that these printers only use the necessary amount of ribbon.
  • AutoPrinter: Many of the brand's printers come with auto printing options. Robotic arms are designed to print as many as 300 discs without supervision, which speeds up the process of large print jobs.
  • LED Buttons: Users can monitor the progress of their print job thanks to LED buttons, which are designed to offer visual monitoring.
What are Rimage's software options?

Rimage publishing printer comes with the Rimage Software Suite. This software is designed to help new and experienced users navigate the printer process. The suite contains features like:

  • CD Designer: Users can design CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Rays.
  • Rimage System Manager: This is designed to allow users monitor their printer and projects from any location.
  • QuickDisc: This feature is designed to help users submit their finished projects to their Rimage publishing printer.
